Who knew a simple carrot in a bun could be so tasty?! I certainly didn’t. Ditch the fake meats & give this easy, healthy & delicious carrot hot dog a go! These hot dogs go down a treat at a BBQ & are so simple to make in bulk.
You can top your carrot hot dog with whatever you like, so be inventive! I’ve topped mine with pulled jackfruit, caramelised onions & Cajun mayo 🔥
The beauty of these carrots is you can fry them, pop them on a griddle pan or even grill them on a BBQ! To make them extra tasty, prep your carrots the day before and leave them marinading overnight!

INGREDIENTS
- Carrot
- Soy sauce
- Garlic
- Cayenne pepper
HOW TO MAKE THEM
1 – Peal the skin from your carrot & boil it whole for roughly 10 minutes or until you can just about push your fork through the carrot.
2 – Marinade your carrot in soy sauce, garlic & cayenne pepper & refrigerate for at least an hour. (pop everything into a sealable sandwich bag)
3 – Heat your griddle pan with a touch of oil & fry your carrot for roughly 2-3 minutes on each side or until charred. Season with salt & pepper whilst frying.
4 (OPTIONAL) – Finely slice red onion & fry in maple syrup & balsamic vinegar for a few minutes to create your caramelised onions.
Serve with pulled jackfruit, cajun mayo & coleslaw.
